We are delighted to have been awarded a recent grant to deliver our Schools Resilience programme to a large number of vulnerable and disadvantaged children. This generous donation comes from Heathrow Community Trust’s Projects for Young People and will allow us to share the iheart programme with 3 schools in the London Borough of Ealing.
Children aged 10 – 15 will receive the 10-session resilience programme from January 2020. The selected schools are Elthorne Park High, Drayton Green Primary and Havelock Primary.
Heathrow Community Trust is part of an independent grant-making charity set up by Heathrow’s owners to support and strengthen local communities close to the airport. In the past two years it has donated more than £1 million to fund projects which include supporting young people as an area of focus.
Brian Rubenstein, iheart CEO, explains that “this grant specifically enables us to reach vulnerable young people who otherwise may not be able to access a programme such as ours. Many of the beneficiaries do not speak English as their first language and they and their families are adapting to the challenges of living in a new country. We are so grateful to the Heathrow Community Trust for supporting an initiative that will help these young people uncover the innate resilience and potential.”
